Thin wood binding for inlay on guitars and other stringed instruments. As well as enhancing the appearance of the instrument, it protects the edges from accidental damage. Can also be used to make purfling and soundhole rings or rosettes. Ebony is a hard black wood that creates a striking contrast when inlaid alongside lighter coloured woods.
