This straight grained wood is easy to work with and has a stripy figuring. Sapeli is a highly sustainable and relatively fast-growing wood. Tonally it is close to mahogany, with a slightly brighter sound. Backs are usually supplied at around 5mm thickness and ribs at 3-5mm.
